Dust, allergies or a musty smell that will not quit? We test the air in your North Atlanta home, show you every reading and fix the cause the same crew found.
Air quality testing in Atlanta measures what is floating in the air inside your home: fine particles, humidity, VOCs and CO2, room by room. Fresh Cleaning Solutions runs these tests across North Atlanta and walks you through every number before we leave, so you know what is wrong and what fixes it.
Here is what each reading tells you, and why it tends to run high in homes on the north side:
| Reading | What a high number points to | Common North Atlanta cause |
|---|---|---|
| Particles | Dust, pollen and pet dander moving through the ducts | Spring pine and oak pollen pulled in through returns and duct gaps |
| Humidity | Moisture that feeds mold, dust mites and musty smells | Long, muggy summers and damp crawl spaces |
| VOCs | Fumes from paint, new floors, cabinets, cleaners and air fresheners | Renovations and new construction in older neighborhoods |
| CO2 | Stale air and not enough fresh air coming in | Tightly closed homes running the AC for months |
Atlanta calls itself the city in a forest, and a 2023 Georgia Tech study measured tree cover at about 46% of the city's land. The northern suburbs are just as wooded. Those trees are beautiful, and every spring they coat driveways, cars and return vents in yellow dust. On March 29, 2025, Atlanta Allergy and Asthma recorded a pollen count of 14,801, the highest ever measured in the metro. Whatever your filter misses settles in the ducts and blows back out for months.
Then summer brings the humidity. The Chattahoochee River runs along Roswell, Sandy Springs and Johns Creek, and the creeks and wooded lots around it keep crawl spaces damp from June through September. Most North Atlanta ductwork runs through those crawl spaces or through hot attics, where small gaps pull in moist, dusty air.
Housing age adds to it. Much of the housing around the Perimeter went up in the 1970s and 1980s, and in Dunwoody the 1970s is the single biggest building decade. Many of those homes are on their second or third AC system but still run on the original ducts. That is why indoor air quality testing so often turns up high particles and high humidity in the same house.
Book a test if you notice:
A home air quality test with us is one visit, and you get the answers on the spot. No waiting on a report that shows up weeks later.
If the smell or the readings point to mold, mold testing is a separate test. We take air samples and check for moisture in the rooms, attic, crawl space and ductwork, then send the samples for lab analysis so you know if mold is in the air and where it is coming from. A test is only worth it if it leads to the fix. Because we do the cleaning and drying too, the same team that found the problem solves it:
Want the test and the fix in one trip? The Home Air Quality Check bundles the air test, whole-home duct cleaning, a free dryer vent cleaning and sanitizing into one visit.

Fresh Cleaning Solutions did an amazing job. My appointment was at 8 a.m. they arrived on time and was out of here around 9:45. I was able to finish my day. The gentlemen were friendly and kept me informed during the whole process. The vents look amazing and they sprayed a disinfectant that smelled amazing throughout the whole house. I highly recommend the service.
David and Ahmad were both professional, sweet, and personable!! They took time to explain everyrhing they were doing and why!! They both are a true asset to your company!!
The Fresh Cleaning Solutions carpet cleaning technician called in advance and arrived during the scheduled window. He was polite and professional, and went back over stubborn spots for me. While their rate was higher than I wanted to pay, they were lower than a couple of other companies I tried and added in a couple of small bathroom area rugs for a very reasonable extra charge. Would definitely use them again.

FAQ
Our indoor air quality testing checks four readings: fine particles like dust, pollen and pet dander, humidity, VOCs from paint, cleaners and new flooring, and CO2 from stale air. We also inspect your vents and ducts so we can see where the problem starts. In North Atlanta homes, particles and humidity are the two readings we see run high most often, thanks to spring pollen and damp crawl spaces. Mold needs its own test, and we offer it.
We give you a free estimate and a flat rate up front, with no hidden fees. You know the full cost before we start. If the test shows your ducts need cleaning, dryer vent cleaning is free with any air duct cleaning, and every service is backed by our 100% satisfaction or your money back promise.
No. Weather apps and city monitors report outdoor air for the whole metro. Your home has its own air, shaped by your ducts, your filter, your crawl space and what you cook, clean and paint with. Indoor air can be worse than outside, especially in pollen season or a humid summer. The only way to know what you are breathing at home is to test inside.
No, and we would rather tell you up front. We serve North Atlanta from our Suwanee shop, including Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Peachtree Corners. Intown and south side addresses are usually better served by a company closer to them. Call (678) 609-8713 and we will tell you right away if we cover your street.
Start with an air quality test if the problem is dust, allergies or a stuffy, stale feeling. It shows whether particles, humidity, VOCs or CO2 are high. Choose mold testing if you smell something musty, see dark spots near vents or had a leak. Mold testing uses air samples sent for lab analysis. Many Atlanta homeowners do both, and we can schedule them in the same visit.
